About Seth

Seth Patterson is an avid naturalist and self-taught photographer who first discovered photography as a means to share his passion for nature with the world. Now a life-long pursuit, Seth focuses on using his photography as a tool to help educate and inspire conservation in his native Texas home as well as during his travels across the globe.

Seth is both a freelance photographer as well as an employee of Gorgas Science Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on conservation through education. Seth’s work for GSF centers around imagery and incorporates much of his photography and graphics design abilities. Seth’s most recent project for GSF is “El Valle – The Rio Grande Delta,” a 284 page coffee-table book which was awarded a Gold Medal in the 2011 Independent Publisher’s Publisher of the Year (IPPY) contest. Seth is also a participating photographer for the international Meet Your Neighbours Project.

While not out exploring and documenting the natural world Seth spends most of his days at Sabal Palm Sanctuary in Brownsville, Texas.
